An ‘Oarsome’ Reception

Thank you everyone who joined us for yesterday’s ‘Oarsome’ Reception.

A great big thank you to our amazing speakers. We were thrilled to welcome Olympians Jacob Dawson, Lola Anderson & Becky Wilde; Cambridge Blue Boat Race champions Sarah Portsmouth & Seb Benzecry; our very own Elliot Awin and Matt Rostron CEO from Favoured Charity London Youth Rowing – all sharing their inspiring stories.

Thank you also to the children and young people from Stepney Greencoat School and Mossbourne Community Academy who were a captive audience over tea earlier in the day, before individual photos with the Olympians and their medals, courtesy of lead photographer Liveryman Fred Hill.

What was clear from all speakers was the power of rowing to transform lives. It’s not easy, but with passion, determination & teamwork – anything is possible.
