The Master and Mistress Vintner invite members and their guests to take part in the Mosel 2020 Charity Walk from Friday 26 June 2020 to Sunday 28 June 2020.

So we are able to progress the planning of this event, we now ask members to register themselves, with any guests, and make deposit payments. 

Balance payments will be due at the end of April 2020.

Coach Transfers

We will be providing coach transfers from Luxembourg airport to Bernkastel-Kues with return transfer back to the airport.  These transfers will be timed to coincide with our recommended EasyJet outbound and return flights detailed below:

Which package should you select?

There are two Walking Packages available – one WITH and one WITHOUT Coach Transfers. 

If you wish to travel on our recommended EasyJet flights, or another flight which arrives at Luxembourg and departs from Luxembourg Airport at similar times to the EasyJet flights, and want to join the coach transfer each way, please select the Walking Package WITH Coach Transfer (£225 per head). 

If you are travelling by alternative means – driving, by train, or flying to an alternative airport or at very different timings, then please select the package WITHOUT Coach Transfer (£200 per head), and make your own way to Bernkastel.

Booking your fights:

The Walking Packages DO NOT include the cost of the return flights and these MUST be purchased separately.

Saturday 27 June 2020

Charity Walk with refreshment stops at two local, world-renowned wineries: Weingut J.J. Prüm and Weingut Wwe. Dr. H. Thanish erben Thanisch, where our hostesses will be Dr. Katharina Prüm and Sofia Thanisch respectively.

The main walk will be about 10 miles, including one or two quite steep sections (perfectly walkable in suitable footwear, as proved by the Master, Mistress and Jasmine!).  If you are in doubt there will be an alternative route along the riverside – shorter (about 4.5 miles, but extendable) and completely flat.

Evening barbecue at our final world-renowned winery of the day, Weingut Dr. Loosen, where we will be hosted by Dr. Erni Loosen.

A deposit of £100.00 per person is payable at the time of booking to secure your place(s)

WALKING PACKAGE WITH COACH TRANSFERS

£225.00/person

Included in this Walking Package :

* 2 x nights hotel accommodation with breakfast

* Walk with local winery refreshments

* Barbecue - hosted by 'Dr Loosen' - Saturday evening

* Coach transfer Bernkastel to Luxembourg Airport - Sunday

WALKING PACKAGE - NO COACH TRANSFERS

£200.00/person

Included in this Walking Package :

* 2 x nights hotel accommodation with breakfast

* River cruise and wine tasting - Friday evening (*subject to confirmation*)

* Walk with local winery refreshments

* Barbecue - hosted by 'Dr Loosen' - Saturday evening

Walkers – Additional Charity Sponsorship

In addition to purchasing the Walking Package, each walker, be they a member or guest, is expected to raise a minimum of £250 in personal sponsorship which will be split equally between the Vintners’ Foundation and the Master & Mistress’s chosen charity, Cancer Research, which is close to the Mistress’s heart, as well as it being in memory of Marcia Waters MW, who should have been the First Lady Master Vintner this year.

Advice on setting up a JustGiving page will be provided in due course.

YOUR BOOKING AND YOUR GUESTS

While is is highly likely that the person making the booking WILL be attending the event, the system doesn’t know that!  Therefore, once you have made the booking, you MUST then enter ALL guest details for those in your party. This means you must also enter YOUR details as well as a guest, even if it is just you in the party.

PLEASE FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS:

• We ask the ‘Vintner’ member to book the package(s) for all persons in their party. Please DO NOT ask your guests to book

• Please click on ‘Book Now’ below for the package you wish to purchase

• A pop out window will appear

• Select the TOTAL walking packages you wish to book corresponding with the number of people in your party

• Click on continue

• Complete the booking form and click on continue

• Enter your card details for the required deposit (£100 per person in your party)

• Submit your payment

• You will then be asked to complete the details for all persons in your party. You can either do this yourself or send the link you will be provided with in that section to your guests and they will be able to complete themselves. Guest details can be provided at a later stage

• Do not forget to enter your own details as one of the guests!

• Your will receive email confirmation of your booking

• PLEASE NOTE – Single rooms are very limited and we may have to get back to people with alternative suggestions!
